Project description: Welf@re&Migr@zioni aims to understand the effects of digitalisation on access to and use of welfare services. The project focuses, in the one hand, on healthcare and social assistance services in the Piedmont region, and, on the other hand, on migrant populations who, being more vulnerable, may help to highlight the limits and pitfalls of welfare systems as well as potential improvements. The research questions guiding the project are the following: 1) How does digitalisation shape migrants’ access to and use of welfare services? 2) Does digitalisation affect the intensity of existing inequalities, either exacerbating or alleviating them, or does it create new forms of inequality, shaping new scenarios?
