Visiting scholars

Claudia Finotelli, Professor of Sociology at the Complutense University of Madrid, where she is a member of the research group “GEMI Grupo de estudios sobre migraciones internacionales”, is hosted as a Visiting Scholar at UPO-MiDiS from 10 to 14 December 2026. During her stay, Claudia Finotelli explores, from a comparative Italy–Spain perspective, issues related to bilateral agreements with third countries for migration control, which are central to the architecture of the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, as well as the management of regularisation processes. On the latter topic, she gives a seminar in Vercelli on 2 December 2026.

The Warburg Institute (School of Advanced Study, University of London), one of the world’s leading centres for the study of the transmission of culture and the history of ideas, invites Professor Silvia Fazzo as a Senior Visiting Fellow from January to June 2027. Her research focuses on reconstructing the Greek, Arabic, and Latin traditions of Aristotle’s Metaphysics, with particular attention to the role of translation and cultural mediation in the circulation of knowledge across Mediterranean societies and cultures. The research stay contributes to strengthening MiDiS Centre’s international collaborations in the fields of cultural exchange and the history of ideas.
